Christopher Flanagan and his wife Ashley know the difficulties of finding open child care slots.

It took them two years to get their daughter Aubrey, 3, into a facility, and at first it was only two days a week.

When the family, residents of South Dennis, welcomed twin boys Dylan and Nathan four months ago, finding spaces for them at a child care facility became a looming concern.

"That's the million dollar question," said Flanagan, a Democrat and state representative for 1st Barnstable District as well as a Dennis Select Board member.
