Rayhanatou B. - Student

“My name is Rayhanatou Barry. I live in Dorchester, Massachusetts. I am a student at JVS Boston. Affordable, high-quality early childhood education is important to me because it helps my children and my family. When I came to the United States my English was not too good. My children couldn’t speak English. If they stay home and don’t have daycare or learn English, it’s going to be very difficult for them when they start school. Early childhood education teaches language, communication, and social skills. It helps kids to be active. Children can learn English and know about school when they are a younger age. Good quality childcare prepares my kids for school and for life. It’s also important to me because I can go to work. As an immigrant, childcare programs are going to help me, and help my kids too to communicate and have the skills to be successful. It’s good for parents like me who are immigrants in the United States.”
