“I have been studying ECE since my high school graduation in 1990. I have a Masters of Art in Teaching, teach high school students how to be ECE's and I’m a parent as well. I have studied in CO and MA and what I have seen is so varied and the child care facilities are staffed with teachers who need support and formal education to guide the craziness. This field is so essential and our country deserves once again to have MA lead the nation in what can become an opportunity for high quality ECE and care. The research is there, I am so tired of the stale communication and lack of funding. This is the foundation for building and empowering our children, families and eventually communities. I am embarrassed to hear the stories of what my students see and hear at their co-op sites, it is so different from our Laboratory school. Not just ratios, fully funded, etc. but the love, passion and ability to engage high level, thought provoking, conversations is lost.”
