“My husband and I have a 1 year old daughter and we both have well paid fulltime jobs. Our daughter has been in Preschool since 5 months old when I returned to work. We did all the math and determined we cannot afford to be a single income family, so affordable child care was necessary. We were on at least 6 or 7 waitlists for childcare before our daughter was even born which caused a lot of stress since I knew I needed to go back to work. By some miracle we were able to get into the preschool she is at now and we truly could not be happier with the care and love she receives. But now we are faced with the reality that we will not be able to afford a second child since it would double the cost of childcare. Even now we can only afford childcare for 3 days out of the week which leads us needing to rely on family to babysit and requesting schedule changes at work. I feel as a human being, who works hard and provided for my child, that I should not be feeling unable to have a second child ONLY because the cost of CHILDCARE is TOO MUCH!”
