“I’m a psychologist and mother of a six-year-old. My family struggled with figuring out how to pay for childcare with both my husband and I working. I was working in the public sector at the time, not earning a very high income; childcare is very expensive here in Massachusetts. From a professional perspective, I do evaluations for the juvenile court system in MA and it’s often when I’m doing parenting and bonding evaluations and one of the big issues is how can this person provide for this child’s care. How does it work for managing work and childcare? It’s really expensive and I believe that every child and every family should have access to high-quality, consistently accessible childcare. I feel like we have high-quality childcare but it should be accessible to all families”
