“To prioritize education, we need to prioritize teachers from an early age as well. In other cultures it seems it’s an honor to teach children, here we don’t pay them enough. Our teachers are wonderful but there’s a high turnover rate, they have to go somewhere else to get a better wage. If we want to be the best country in the world, if we want to compete, we have to prioritize our kids. It’s trite to say but they are the future. We want to incentivize people to get into childcare, not drive them away”
