I have worked in the childcare field for three years in a vocational high school, almost 4. I really enjoy working with young children and teaching them the basic skills they need to be successful in a pre-k environment. The biggest obstacles I deal with are some children do not like to express their emotions often and they should be able to. I also notice a lot of children do not know how to write their name by the age they should know how to, so parent involvement is crucial. We as teachers should continue to teach children as effectively as possible, even when it gets challenging, because in the end we are impacting their young lives tremendously.

What would the existence of an affordable, high-quality early education and child care program mean for you as an educator? What would be different if such a program existed?

If this existed, it would be great because children need good, working, school environments and every child should have the ability to experience that, no matter the circumstances. Children would be able to learn more easily and efficiently.
