Brooke M. - Educator
“I have worked in the childcare field for about 2 years now. I wanted to become an educator because I feel like not a lot of people my age want to work with young children and I love making children happy and seeing their smiling faces. Some of the biggest obstacles I deal with are knowing some children don’t get love at home, so I’m trying to make sure I give all the love I can to all of these children.
A high-quality early education program would mean that children would get the education that they need and would be provided with all the food and care they need. The whole childcare system would be different because all children would have the same care.
Lawmakers should know that it’s hard to teach a class during Covid-19. Trying to explain to young children that they can’t touch or share with their friends is the most difficult part. COVID-19 has affected me as a teacher by the fact that no one knows what is going to happen next or when this is all going to end. I’m concerned that some of the children could get sick from this virus and we will have to shut down all of the childcare facilities.”
